Argo is a free to play tactical first person shooter. Enter the battle as part of a five-man squad tasked with battling the enemy over a series of objectives.
Developed as a conversion or mod of ARMA 3, Argo takes the hyper-realistic tone and gameplay of the military shooter and shrinks it down to the scale of an arena style FPS. While ARMA 3 famously requires players to find their own enjoyment, this more compact objective based gameplay creates an interesting mix of styles. The realistic gun play remains while some of the more interesting complexities have gone, replaced by simple capture points game modes. Argo is currently in a state of ongoing development and features an extreme amount of bugs and issues which can make the game unplayable. With such a large number of popular similar titles available, it is difficult to imagine exactly what audience will want to play this game. Fans of ARMA's military style will be disappointed in a lack of depth while FPS fans will find it tiresome.
Lost among rivals
Argo is a game which may struggle to find a firm player base. While it is certainly impressive for a free title, more popular alternatives may continue to draw the large audience.
